Xavier Edgardo Rivera

Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the promising young baritone Xavier Edgardo Rivera just finished his BM at the Conservatory of Music in Puerto Rico, where he studied with William Woodruff and Antonio Barasorda.

In the 2013-14 season, Xavier Edgardo, performed as soloist with the Symphonic Orchestra of Puerto Rico in Zarzuela Gala Concerts, the Mozart Requiem and in fundraising galas. He has performed in operas and symphonic masterpieces with some of the greatest names in opera, including Lawrence Brownley, Eglise Gutierrez, Ana María Martínez, Rafael Davila, Denis Sedov, Gustavo Dudamel and the Simón Bolivar Youth Orchestra.

He has participated in masterclasses with a number of great singers, including Justino Diaz, Sherrill Milnes, Joan Dornemann and Mignon Dunn. He was also invited to be part of numerous young artist summer programs, including Institutes in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Tel Aviv, Israel and St. John’s, Newfoundland. He has worked with some of opera’s preeminent coaches and voice teachers.

Xavier Edgardo is currently pursuing his graduate studies and developing his career in the San Francisco Bay Area under the tutelage of Professor Cesar Ulloa at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. His upcoming engagements include the role of Schaunard in La Bohème in November 2014 with the Teatro de la Ópera in Puerto Rico.
