Endowment Fund
Oakland East Bay Symphony's
Endowment Fund was established in February 2000, when Giles "Bud" Cropsey - a
dedicated member of the OEBS Board of Directors for the past 14 years - donated
the lead gift of $500,000.
The Endowment provides selective funding to
the Symphony today, while seeking to grow assets to ensure the Symphony's
future vitality.
- Make a cash
gift or donate appreciated securities. By using appreciated securities you
benefit from deducting the full market value of securities at the time of the
gift
- Facilitate your individual and/or
family financial goals by making a planned charitable gift to the Endowment. A
benefactor can establish an income source while potentially realizing
associated tax and estate preservation benefits.
- Consider a Charitable Remainder
Trust, which may enable a benefactor to make a gift of appreciated assets to
OEBS, while avoiding capital gains taxes of sales of the assets. This and other
wealth planning techniques can benefit both the Symphony and the
donor.
