Frédéric O. Boulay has worked in opera, symphony, theatre, dance and circus as Project Manager, Technical Director, and Rigger in more than two hundred and fifty productions in France and the United States. He has been the Director of Production for Festival Opera since 2000. Most recently, Frédéric has worked with Opera San Jose, Tacoma Opera, and Lamplighter Music Theatre in San Francisco. A native of France, he holds a degree in business from the Université du Maine, a Master of Arts in Technical Theatre from Western Washington University, and is currently finishing his Executive MBA at the University of Utah - David Eccles School of Business .
Matthew Antaky, Lighting Designer
Since 1985, Mr.
Antaky has created and collaborated on both scenic and lighting designs for the
performing arts including Theater, Opera, Dance and Music. This is Mr. Antaky's
third season creating lighting for Oakland East Bay Symphony, having designed
Mass and Porgy and Bess in subsequent years. Mr. Antaky's most recent opera
designs include productions of La Cenerentola with The Utah Opera, La
Bohème for Opera Pacific, Our Town for Festival Opera, Opera San Jose's
Barber of Seville and Young Caesar for Ensemble Parallel. He has also created
designs for the Utah Symphony, Dallas Symphony and the Cabrillo Music Festival.
His recent designs for dance include A Walk in the Woods for ODC Dance, Robert
Moses Kin Home Season, Flood for Liss Fain Dance, Bitter Fruit for Mark
Foehringer Dance Project/SF and Objects of Curiosity for Smuin Ballet. Upcoming
Projects are with the National Ballet of Peru, Home seasons with Liss Fain
Dance and Mark Foehringer Dance Project/SF and opera productions of Il
Travatore and Cozi Fan Tutti. Mr. Antaky is a Six-time nominee and three-time

Jim Quinn, Stage Manager
2007-08 is the second season Jim Quinn has served as technical director of the Oakland East Bay Symphony. He has previously been stage manager of San Francisco Symphony and Sun Valley Summer Symphony. He was assistant lighting designer and an audio engineer at San Francisco Opera for many years. Jim also has experience as a professional symphonic musician.
