Professor G. Reginald Daniel, UC Santa Barbara, race and ethnic relations; comparative and historical sociology, author of More than Black? Multiracial Identity and the New Racial Order.

Professor Rachel F. Moran, Berkeley Law School, a specialist in law, race, and identity; currently at  UC Irvine; author of Interracial Intimacy: The Regulation of Race and Romance. Prof. Moran's works have been targeted at dispelling the myth that because the US struck down anti-miscegenation laws, all issues of inter-racial intimacy have been resolved.


Professor Paul von Blum, UCLA; Paul Robeson expert and author of 6 books.

Drawing on the themes of Otello and Show Boat for its inspiration, Oakland East Bay Symphony is presenting this forum to explore race, ethnicity and social relations as portrayed in music, and as reflected in the contemporary cultural quilt of California.
Historical facts, performing arts history, personal stories, and interesting and relevant points will be included. The panel will include a team of experts in various fields.
