| Wine, food, music and money flowed in abundance at our fundraising gala on Saturday, June 2 at the elegant Claremont Resort & Spa. Three hundred supporters of the Symphony had a fabulous time and rubbed shoulders with such local celebrities as Mayor Ron Dellums, opera great Frederica von Stade, KRON-TV anchor Pam Moore and KDFC host Dianne Nicolini at the sold-out event. | ||

 Gala attendees enjoyed a delicious meal, outbid their neighbors at a lively auction, swooned to the gorgeous voice of jazz chanteuse Paula West, and then kicked up their heels to the great dance band Pride and Joy. |

and hard work of Gala Chair Cynthia Roy and her tireless Vice Chairs Michele
Davenport, Patricia Jeanne Howze and Jill Knowland.  |

And best of all, they contributed more than $200,000 to
the Symphony's Education Programs, which provide instrumental music instruction
in some of Oakland's neediest schools and reach over 25,000 children a
year. |
