G Calvin Simmons Legacy
Society .
Oakland East Bay
Symphony has established the Calvin Simmons Legacy Society for those who wish
to support the Symphony through bequests and other planned gifts. Planned gifts
are contributions made through a will, trust or lifetime transfer which are
often integrated into the donor's financial or estate plan.
The Calvin
Simmons Legacy Society is comprised of persons who have expressed their
commitment to the Oakland East Bay Symphony by making a planned gift. By
participating in the planned giving program, you can help the Symphony continue
to provide classical music and music education to the East Bay community with
the added benefit of deferral or deduction of estate or income
taxes.
A 'planned
gift' is a broad term that includes cash, bequests, life insurance, property,
and charitable trusts, among other things. Planned gifts can provide
considerable tax savings for donors and heirs, occasionally without materially
impacting the net wealth that passes to their heirs and other loved ones. Many
people who could not otherwise give to the Symphony as generously as they might
like find they are able to do so with a planned gift.
When you notify Oakland East Bay Symphony about your gift, whether
intended or received, you will become a member of our growing Calvin Simmons
Legacy Society.
If you have not yet made plans for your estate and would
like a referral from the Symphony regarding qualified legal and/or financial
professionals to help you with the gifting process, please call Maya Rath, Finance Director, at 510-444-0801 ext. 308,
and she will be happy to assist you.
