We're excited to open our season
with the first composition for full orchestra by multi-Grammy® winning
songwriter, producer and drummer Narada Michael Walden. Narada has produced hit
records for scores of famous musicians and is an acclaimed recording and
performing artist in his own right. He'll play drums with our orchestra on
The Enchanted Forest.
Legendary guitarist Carlos Santana will accompany Narada
and the orchestra for The Enchanted Forest as well as perform three of
his own selections. Santana has sold more than 90 million records and reached
over 100 million fans at concerts worldwide. To date, Santana has won ten
GRAMMY® Awards, including a record-tying nine for 1999's Supernatural. In
1998, the group was ushered into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. His newest CD,
Guitar Heaven (featuring While My Guitar Gently Weeps), will be
released on September 21, 2010.
Arturo Marquez's lively Danzon No. 2, a work so
popular that it has been called Mexico's "second national anthem," will set the
pace for this thrilling program.
NOTE: Single tickets for this concert will be priced
differently than other subscription concerts. Tickets will be $25 -
$70.
