Open Rehearsals
Students, seniors and low-income adults may attend free rehearsals of the Symphony on afternoons or evenings preceding Classical Music Series concerts.

Using a microphone, Maestro Morgan often stops to explain to the audience what he is rehearsing with the orchestra, giving insight into the process of transforming myriad details into a masterful, moving performance.

We also use this forum to invite schools and seniors who might not otherwise be able to attend our evening concerts.

The following Thursday rehearsals are open to the public:
November 8 at 3:30
January 24 at 7:30
February 21 at 3:30
March 13 at 3:30
April 17 at 7:30

Pre-concert Talks

OEBS continues its tradition of presenting talks before each concert. The talks are generally given by a composer whose work is featured on that evening's program, or by a musicologist specializing in the music being presented. Select pre-concert programs will also include a short performance by talented young musicians who receive an Honorable Mention at the annual Young Artist Competition.

The talks begin at 7:00pm from the Paramount Theatre stage.
