| Randall Keith, Bass Randall Keith is Principal Bassist of the Santa Rosa and Monterey Bay Symphonies, Assistant Principal Bass with the Modesto and Fresno Orchestras, and Section Bass with the Oakland Symphony. He has performed with the San Francisco Ballet, Chanticleer Men's Choir, Marin, San Jose Silicon and California Symphonies. He is also the leader of the Santa Rosa Symphony String Quintet, which performs in schools throughout the entire bay area. Randall has also spent time in The Studios, which has led to performances on many recordings, including releases by Archangelos Chamber Ensemble, Grant Taylor, Tim Krol and most recently with his jazz group, The Dmitry Greenberg Trio. Keith has participated in the Mendocino Music Festival, the National Orchestral Institute, the Midsummer Mozart Festival, and the Carmel Bach, Coos Bay, and Redwood Music Festivals. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and has studied with S. Charles Siani, Steve Tramontozzi and most recently, Joe Lescher (Principal Bass of the S.F. Opera). Beside all his musical endeavors, he has found a desire to participate in the organizational work behind the music. Currently, he is the Union Steward of the Fresno Philharmonic, a member of the Players Committee in the Modesto Symphony, Chairman of the Artistic Review Committee and alternate Ropa Delegate in the Santa Rosa Symphony. In the past fifteen years, he has been a leader on the Players Committee in Santa Rosa, and Chairman for ten of those years. During that time, he participated in negotiations for the last four contracts. In the past, he has taken part in the Conductor Search Committee for the Fresno Philharmonic, the Executive Director Search Committee with the Modesto Symphony, and before there was any union involvement, he was on the first Players Committee in the California Symphony. |
