| Rena Urso-Trapani,
Flute Rena Urso - Trapani is a member of the flute faculty at California State University, Long Beach. A native of Detroit, Ms. Urso-Trapani received her Bachelor of Music degree from Wayne State University. Additionally, she holds a Master of Music degree from CSULB. Ms. Urso-Trapani has held Piccolo positions in the New York City Opera, National Company, and the San Francisco Opera's Western Opera Theater. Other orchestras she has performed with include the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the San Francisco Opera Center, the American Ballet Theater, the Honolulu Symphony, as well as many of the regional orchestras in California. Her flute quartet, "Bella Musica" maintains an active schedule concertizing on the West Coast and performing outreach events in the public schools around California. Ms. Urso-Trapani is the second flutist with the Oakland East Bay Symphony and the Oregon Coast Music Festival Orchestra. She has performed in masterclasses with James Galway, Julius Baker, Michel Debost and Ervin Monroe. Her principal teachers include Robert Patrick, Clement Barone, Dr. John Barcellona and Anne Diener-Zentner. |
