Y O U N G A R T I S T C O M P E T I T I O N Crowden Music Center and California State Universiy East Bay present 15th Annual Young Artist Competition Date TBD, 2011 (Preliminary Round) Crowden Music Center Date TBD, 2011 (Final Round) California State University East Bay Application and Rules for the next Young Artist Competition will be posted here Eligibility Open to all orchestral instruments and piano students residing or studying in Alameda or Contra Costa County. Age Divisions Junior Division (10 to 15 years as of date TBD, 2011) Senior Division (16 to 22 years as of date TBD, 2011) Awards Junior Award: $500 cash prize and solo performance as guest artist with the OEBS at the Young People's Concert or an OEBS Family Concert. Senior Award: $1000 cash prize and solo performance as guest artist with the Oakland East Bay Symphony during the 2011/2012 Subscription Concert Season at Oakland's 3,000-seat Paramount Theater.. Honorable Mentions: In addition, candidates awarded Honorable Mention are given performance opportunities, which may include performing at the Pre-Concert Series (Paramount Theater) and/or performing as soloist with the Oakland Civic Orchestra. Note: Awards are not necessarily awarded or limited to one winner. To Apply Completed application with teacher's signature. Non-refundable $30 application fee must accompany application. Applicants must provide their own accompanist. Repertoire Junior Division: One movement of a concerto or concert work for soloist and orchestra from standard repertoire (see rules/requirements) Senior Division: Full concerto or concert piece for soloist and orchestra from the standard repertoire (see rules/requirements) Application Deadline Monday May 10, 2011.
